Painter’s Demo Tape

The beginning of it all, the very first project put together by ESC. There is beauty in the untainted, fresh mind of an artist. That aspect is present, alongside the eagerness to present everything an artist is capable of out the gate. ESC did just that, demonstrating what is possible and ESC’s true musical self. Painter’s Demo Tape is the debut, it is special.

In late 2020, family encouragement reached ESC to finally put the music together for a complete project. A studio had to be developed far from the average computer desk. ESC upgraded to The Brown Room. Still just an average desk, this time with an adjoining closet. With the help of MyHomieTony, cut-up patio furniture and felt blankets were installed, providing soundproofing for the birth of a mixtape. A Sterling ST170 Active Ribbon Microphone was placed in the center to complete The Brown Room microphone booth.

Up until the Summer of 2021, ESC worked diligently to finish all the songs nestled in the mind. Once completed, the challenge of the album art presented itself. Pictures of the letters E, S, and C were taken, cut, and then attached to a paper alongside a picture of ESC’s eyes. The title is written in Sharpie, with a blue demo tape in the center. Scanner warping completes the distorted look. The art perfectly encapsulates the artist.

Painter’s Demo Tape was released on August 27th, 2021. Originally only on SoundCloud. Later uploaded to all streaming platforms as P.D.T. because of naming regulations. As time went on, ESC noticed the sound getting left behind. Fall of 2023, Painter’s Demo Tape received a full remaster. The sonics updating assured they hit hard and loud, without fail. All of ESC, the current and the past, grows in unison.
